The DC Caribbean Carnival is getting more popular every year in this part of North America- Washington DC. The carnival was first launched in the year 1993. It was one of the prime events where Caribbean bands from all over the city participate and take their chance at stardom. The first Caribbean carnival of 1993 started with only nine bands performing on the stage. With over 100,000 guests on its first year, the Caribbean carnival grew in enormous proportions and the crowd grows bigger every year.
Participating bands of the DC Caribbean Carnival are exclusively open to local bands and groups of the DC Metropolitan Area. The groups are actually representatives of every Caribbean country. Because of its uniqueness and the different rhythm and flavor of Caribbean music, the carnival had a lot of support from the local government as well as the residents of DC. Every year, the DC Caribbean Carnival gave way to the followers and fans of Caribbean music. Companies and private business men also show their support for this grand carnival with their sponsorship and donations.
This year, the DC Caribbean Carnival would be held for two days, on June 27 and on June 28.
