Brazilian Carnavals
Carnivals are celebrated with a mission in Brazil. From Thursday to Fat Tuesday, people get berserk and indue in all sorts of primal passion including vigorous dance, singing and sex. Ash Wednesday signals the start of Lent, the 40-day period of Abstinence
Rio is the undisputed king of carnivals worldwide. But this does not mean that Brazil does not have other options. Salvadore, Sao Paulo and Long Beach are other noted Brazilian carnivals.
Salvadore
Salvadore is famous for its parades and the queen and teen show. Winners are announced on Sunday. Six streets are lined up just for the parades. Recife is another attraction that pulls crowds.
Sao Paulo
Sao Paulo, the largest city in Brazil, allows great carnival fun. You should make prior booking to ensure better seat placement. And if you are opposed to harsh sounds, buy ear plugs. Booze, women and entertainment are the buzzwords. Sao Paulo puts emphasis on the children’s section and arranges for a few of their parades during the carnival. Carnival cruises make sure that people get entertainment outside the carnival too.
Long Beach
Long Beach is also a city by the ocean and carries its expanse into the carnival plans. There is stuff for all sections and blocos make merry as if tomorrow will never come. The drum and dance performance is the best in the entire country.
